The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) released the list of new IEEE Fellows in 2022 in the early November. Professor Zhijun Li from the Department of Automation, USTC was among them.
As the first teacher from our department to gain this honor, Prof. Zhijun Li was elected for his contributions to control systems for wearable robotics and bio-mechatronics.
The IEEE Fellow is granted by the IEEE Board of Directors upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest and emphasis on practical contributions. The total number selected cannot exceed 0.1% of the total voting memberships. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade and is accepted by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.
Prof. Zhijun Li has devoted himself to the scientific researches of wearable robotics and bio-mechatronics and has already published more than 300 papers indexed by SCI/EI, including more than 100 IEEE Transactions papers. As the first author, Prof. Li also published 3 English monographs and more than 20 ESI highly cited papers, as well as more than 12,000 Google scholar citations and H-index64. He was also granted as the Highly Cited Researcher successively from 2019 to 2021.
